Tenebrae service at St. Therese Parish

St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church will present a Tenebrae service, a combination of readings, psalms, hymns and choral responsories. The gradual extinction of all lights in the Church throughout the service symbolizes the temporary triumph of the prince of darkness over the Light of the World, and the loud noise, or strepitus, at the conclusion of the service suggests the earthquake described in the Passion narratives.
