Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Cottage Grove
This week we are excited to highlight Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Cottage Grove, along with their mission of St. Philip Benizi in Creswell! Let by their pastor Fr. John Boyle, this community places a strong emphasis on the Sacraments and Catholic devotions, and is busy with wonderful community activities. A few highlights include:
Parish Liturgies
- Daily Mass is offered throughout the week!
- Saturday Vigil at 5:30 pm, Sunday at 10:30 am
- St Philip Benizi – Bilingual English / Spanish at 8 am Sunday
- Latin Mass: 6:45 pm on Mondays, 9 am Tuesdays and Saturdays
- Other Weekday Mass: 12 pm on Wednesdays, 9 am Thursdays and Fridays
- Confession (English and Spanish) before Masses on weekday mornings and on weekends
- Eucharistic Adoration
- Friday and Saturday mornings
- First Saturday Adoration follows Votive Mass on Friday evenings, goes all night, ends with Benediction on Saturday morning
- The Church is open daily for prayer for people to spend time before the Blessed Sacrament.
- You can write an intention and place in box before the icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (or email) and they’ll be remembered each Saturday.
Upcoming Events:
- Extra confessions during Lent before weekday Masses Tuesday – Sunday, before and after Stations
- Lent Reconciliation Service on March 21
- Meatless dinner on Fridays of Lent before Stations
Parish Activities:
- Faith Formation is offered for all ages: Sacramental preparation, children, youth, and continuing formation for adults.
- The parish just wrapped up a Lenten Parish Mission on the Holy Face of Jesus, let by Fr. Lawrence Carney.
- Recent events included an Epiphany skit, a Visit from St. Nicholas, Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration, and the Rorate Mass in Advent.
- Other activities throughout the year have included youth retreats, men’s Holy Hours, summer Vacation Bible School, and an All Saints Day Party.
- The parish is bustling with all kinds of prayer and fellowship groups like the Knights of Columbus, homeless ministry outreach, men’s and women’s Bible studies, Rosary and Lectio groups, Science of Sainthood classes, and more.
