About the Parish

  • St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Eugene, OR welcomes people of all ages and stages: young adults, families, seniors, and visitors alike.
  • The parish is nestled on a hilltop in South Eugene, with a sanctuary enclosed on three sides by full-length glass panels, with Spencer Butte in the background. The Masses are blessed by the view of God’s world and are often visited by His creatures – deer, birds, wild turkeys – outside the windows!
  • The parish is led by pastor Fr. Francis Xavier Saleth.
  • The parish has an Adoration Chapel, with adorers scheduled throughout the week.
  • St. Jude’s has an active St. Vincent de Paul ministry, which recently hosted a dinner for the families at First Place Family Annex.

  • Their Knights of Columbus meets regularly, and recently encouraged a Blood Drive!
  • The parish is plugged in with the Eugene 40 Days for Life campaign.
  • The Altar Society also helps provide funeral receptions!
  • 10 minutes away is the St. Thomas More Newman Center at the University of Oregon, is run by FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) and the Dominican Friars. It hosts a wide variety of events for Catholic students!
  • Also nearby is Discalced Carmelite Nuns at Carmel of Maria Regina in Eugene. St. Jude’s Parish Calendar Parties and other activities help support the Carmelite nuns. The party last year raised over $30,000!

Lent Activities

  • Adoration and Confession after daily Mass on Fridays, from 9:30 – 10:30 am
  • Stations of the Cross Fridays at 5:30 pm
  • Soup Suppers at Newman Center at 6:30 pm, followed by Taize Prayer
  • Rosaries prayed half an hour before all Masses during Lent (except Palm Sunday)
  • Lenten Penance Service April 10 at 6 pm
  • Fish Fry on Alternative Fridays, March 21 and April 4, at 6 pm
  • Lenten Retreat this Saturday March 22, in the afternoon
  • Willamette Valley Pie Company Fundraiser – put in your pie order for Easter!
