This week we are headed to Marion County to Saint Luke’s Parish in Woodburn! Saint Luke’s was nominated by an enthusiastic parishioner who shared “I personally look forward to Mass each week and celebrating with my St. Luke’s family!” The parishioner also shared that Pastor Father Moises Leal tirelessly endeavors to ensure the entire community journeys together in faith.

  • The mission, hope. and tradition of the Saint Luke Catholic Church is to” proclaim and share the good news of Jesus Christ. We are a diverse parish reflecting the community in which we live. Our focus is to empower and strengthen one another in our common call as disciples of God’s kingdom. We are, then a parish of Faith, Prayer, and Hospitality.”
  • Saint Agnes Mission in Hubbard is their parish mission! An upcoming Saint Agnes Yard Sale, August 2-3, is now accepting contributions.
  • They are currently in a Parish Campaign for a much needed update on the heating and cooling system!

Catholic School

  • Pre-K to eighth grade, enrolling for next year
  • In partnership with the community, is rooted in Gospel values, creating lifelong learners who use their gifts and talents through faith in action to spread the word of God
  • Approaches every child with their future in the forefront giving them the skills needed to be successful and spiritually equipped to lead a faith filled life.
  • Just had the promotion and graduation of students
  • 8th grade graduation Mass and ceremony on the Feast of the Sacred Heart, Fr. Moises reminded graduated to stay close to Jesus
  • Kindergarten class celebration with awards, poems, honoring Kindergarten teacher
  • Preschool students high-energy morning celebration!
  • Visited by former St. Luke students who just graduated from Woodburn Hight School. Walked the halls with staff members, answered question in classrooms about HS and future plans, reminisced on St. Luke days riding wiggle carts and enjoying swings
  • Field trips this spring including the Grotto, performance of Charlotte’s Web at Elsinor Theater in Salem, Country Meadows visit and crafts with residents, Cinco de Mayo opening ceremonies at Chemeketa, 3 days immersion field trip to OMSI outdoor school in Fossil, OR
  • Annual Jogathon in May makes trips possible
