Grand Opening of St. Augustine Parish

For the past year, St. Augustine has been celebrating their centennial:

  • The parish was dedicated on May 30, 1925. It was built both with the help of both local settlers and native tribes, who even set up tents so they could be close by to help.
  • After World War II, Camp Adair near Corvallis was closed. One of their 11 chapels was dismantled and driven to Lincoln City to be used as an updated, larger church. This is the current church building!
  • One large event happening to mark the 100th Anniversary is the Faith on Fire Concert and Mission, happening this Sunday through Tuesday, April 27 – 29.
    • National speaker and singer Vince Ambrosetti and his Mission Team will help St. Augustine celebrate this special year with hope.
    • The 3-day event includes a concert on Divine Mercy Sunday, a Mission with a Focus on Reconciliation on Monday, plus a Mission and Mass on Tuesday.
    • Hear an interview with Vince Ambrosetti on the Morning Blend!
  • A grand Celebration Mass is planned with Archbishop Sample for May 30.
  • Last summer the parish held a Centennial Fun Festival!
