This week we are heading over to the wonderful community of Saint Charles Borromeo in NE Portland!
Fun Facts About the Parish
- Fr. Tony Galati is the pastor of Saint Charles – and prior to being a priest was once the Executive Director of Mater Dei Radio!
- Lenten Evening Prayer services are held on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. during the Lenten season. These services are meant to bring prayerful enrichment for the Lenten journey. They are led by parishioners, filled with meditative music, insightful reflections, and prayers.
- Saint Charles is also helping parishioners during this season with Lenten devotional books!
- The Saint Vincent De Paul Pantry is very active! Their needs are regularly listed in the bulletin, and volunteers help staff pantry shifts.
- There are many ways for people to get involved at Saint Charles, such as with volunteers for the Liturgy and Homebound Ministry. Saint Charles is also actively working to build up a group of volunteers to offer Hospitality on Sundays. Let the parish office know if you are interested!
- Some very thoughtful features of their bulletins are the Birthday Blessings and Prayers for the Sick sections.
- Saint Charles is very busy with a wide variety of ministries, councils, and committees! One example is the Multicultural Committee, which help with events like Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration.
- Recently, Fr. Tony gave a blessing for those who are preparing for Confirmation.
- Ash Wednesday Mass included students and staff from De La Salle North Catholic High School.
- A Parish BBQ was held in September to celebrate the end of summer!
