St. Therese Catholic Church & School, NE Portland
This week we are heading to the wonderful community at St. Therese Catholic Church and School in NE Portland! Learn a few fun facts below.
About the Parish
- From their website:
- At St. Therese Parish, we strive to live and express our faith according to the true teachings of the Catholic Church, and to have everything that we do be inspired by the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in accordance with God’s Holy Will. Through reverent worship and faithful understanding, we live the message and teachings of Jesus Christ. We help each other belong to the Kingdom of God by sharing our faith through liturgy, prayer, sacraments, fellowship, education, service and outreach.
- We believe that only through a true understanding of our faith, we will be able to encourage each other in wisdom, humility and true compassion.
- Pastor Fr. Gabriele White is a priest with the international missionary community called Work of Jesus the High Priest. Fr. Francesco dePuydt (St. Henry’s in Gresham) and Fr. Niall O’Riordan (St. Joseph the Worker) are also of the same order.
- The parish has a great music program led by Emily Bavaro, who has also joined the Morning Blend recently! The Schola Cantorum program is getting started – focused on polyphony, chant, modern music in similar style – for high school and adults. She is also developing an Organ Scholar Program.
